Welcome to Akin Driving School. These Terms and Conditions outline the rules and guidelines for the use of our services. By booking a lesson with us, you agree to comply with the following terms.

Booking Lessons

All driving lessons must be booked in advance. You can book lessons via our website, by phone, or in person.
To take driving lessons, students must be at least 17 years old and have a valid provisional driving license.
All standard driving lessons are 2 hours unless otherwise agreed upon.
Once your booking is confirmed, you will receive an email or text message confirming your lesson details.

Endorsements:

If you already have penalty points on your driving licence, you must inform us before booking or during your first lesson. This is important, as certain driving offences or conditions may affect your ability to take a driving test or be insured during driving lessons.
If you have any endorsements or penalty points on your driving record, please note that this may affect the availability of certain lesson vehicles (e.g., insurance restrictions) or lead to additional charges.
If your licence is endorsed or suspended due to any driving violations, you must notify us immediately. We reserve the right to cancel or suspend any pre-booked lessons until your licence status is cleared or corrected.

Payment

Payments for lessons must be made in advance or on the day of the lesson. We accept payment via bank transfer or cash.
Package deals must be paid for in full at the time of booking. Discounts on bulk packages are only applicable when lessons are paid for in advance.
Our prices are listed on the website and may vary based on the lesson type, location, or promotional offers. Prices are subject to change with prior notice.
Once a lesson is booked and paid for, we do not offer refunds. However, lessons can be rescheduled with at least 48 hours' notice.

Cancellations and Rescheduling

Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance. Failure to do so may result in a cancellation fee of the full cost of the lesson.

If you fail to attend a scheduled lesson without prior notice, the full cost of the lesson will be charged.
In the rare event that your instructor must cancel or reschedule a lesson, we will inform you as soon as possible and arrange an alternative date for your lesson.
Please note that in the event of you having booked your driving test, the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) requires you to give a clear ten working days notice to cancel your test. This may mean that you could/will lose your DVSA test fee if your instructor says you are not ready for your test within this ten-day notice period.

Weather Conditions

We understand that weather conditions can sometimes affect driving lessons. If severe weather (e.g., heavy snow, ice, flooding, etc.) makes driving unsafe, we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule the lesson for safety reasons.
If your lesson is canceled due to weather, we will make every effort to reschedule it at the earliest convenience. If rescheduling is not possible, you will be given the option to book a new lesson or receive a refund for the affected lesson.
If you feel that weather conditions make it unsafe for you to attend a lesson (e.g., due to personal circumstances), please notify us as soon as possible. We will try to accommodate your request to reschedule, provided sufficient notice is given.

Health and Safety

You must ensure that you are physically fit to drive. If you have any medical conditions, disabilities, or are taking medications that may affect your ability to drive, you must inform your instructor before your lesson.
You must not attend driving lessons under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substance that may impair your ability to drive. If you attend a lesson in an impaired state, the lesson will be canceled, and you will still be charged the full cost.

Instructor Conduct and Responsibility

Our instructors are fully qualified, experienced, and committed to providing the best learning experience. They will treat all students with respect and courtesy.
Students are expected to behave respectfully and follow the instructor’s guidance during lessons. Aggressive or unsafe behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in the termination of the lesson without refund.
If the instructor deems the student unfit to drive for any reason (e.g., unsafe driving, aggression, non-compliance), the lesson may be terminated immediately, and the full cost will still be charged.

Vehicle Use

All vehicles used for driving lessons are fully insured for teaching purposes.
Students are responsible for any damage to the vehicle caused by their negligence or failure to follow the instructor’s instructions during a lesson. If damage occurs, the student may be liable for repair costs.
Students are not permitted to drive the instructor’s vehicle outside of scheduled lessons, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Liability

We are not liable for any personal injury, property damage, or loss incurred during lessons, except in cases of negligence on our part.
Students are responsible for ensuring they have all necessary documents, including a valid provisional driving license, before attending lessons.

Data Protection and Privacy

We collect personal information (e.g., name, address, phone number) to provide our services. Your data will not be shared with third parties without your consent, except as required by law.
By booking a lesson, you agree to receive communications from us regarding your lessons and special offers. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and the date of the last revision will be updated.
